After much work by our fundraising chairman, Lowell Weir, Wild Salmon Unlimited (WSU) has received charitable status by the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA). We’re grateful to Lowell for his work on that file and to the folks at the CRA.
Having this status will put WSU in a more favourable position with respect to fund raising and garnering new members in all categories. In a very short time some members of the executive will be visiting with our association members to bring them up-to-date on our progress. As well we plan to visit non-member organizations to encourage them to join us in our endeavours to put fish in rivers.
As an aside I thought I would let you all know that a committee struck to update WSU’s website is reviewing comments received from some of our members as to what they would like to see on the site. If you’ve not already done so please let us know your wishes. One addition will be a blog that will take the place of this type of announcement.
