After much effort, over the past few months, on the part of the Richmond County Wildlife Association (RCWA) particularly Clifford Boudreau some positive news has been received from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Greg Stevens, an official with the Department, has indicated in an e-mail to Boudreau that a scientific group led by Alex Levy, a biologist with the Department, is planning to conduct electro-fishing in rivers of Eastern Cape Breton. This initiative will be carried out with the participation of the UINR. Stevens has requested the RCWA become involved with this initiative. Since WSU is the funding agency for the Grand River project we are more than pleased that some work is finally going to start on the Grand river. Congratulations all.
