About this website
This website is operated by Wild Salmon Unlimited — The Society for the Enhancement of Wild Salmon Stocks — a volunteer, non-profit society registered with the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies. It exists to describe our work restoring wild Atlantic salmon, to share our news and newsletters, and to let you join, donate or get in touch.
The site is informational. Using it does not create a contract between us.
Information on this site
We work to keep the information here accurate and current, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate or up to date at any given moment. WSU is run entirely by volunteers, and pages describing projects, meetings or membership rates may lag behind events.
Nothing on this site is scientific, legal or angling advice. Information about salmon biology, river conditions and conservation is offered in good faith and in summary form.
Memberships and donations
Memberships and donations are taken through PayPal on their own secure checkout, under PayPal's terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Membership rates and the price of a smolt are subject to change — the sustaining membership in particular is tied to the cost of smolts and is reviewed yearly. The rate shown at the time you pay is the rate that applies.
WSU is a registered non-profit society. Whether a particular contribution is tax deductible, and the receipt you receive for it, is a matter between you and WSU — please contact us with any question about a receipt.
Our projects
River restoration work described on this site is often carried out with affiliate associations and partners. Descriptions of that work are reports of what was done at the time, not commitments about future work or its results.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use this site in any way that is unlawful, or that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it, or interfere with anyone else's use of it. You agree not to attempt to gain access to any part of the site, or to any system or data, that is not intentionally made available to you.
You agree not to use the contact form to send unsolicited advertising, or to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes anyone's rights.
Intellectual property
The content of this site — including text, photographs, graphics and the Wild Salmon Unlimited name and logo — is owned by us or used with permission, and is protected by Canadian and international copyright and trade-mark law.
You may view, download and print pages from this site for your own information and for the purpose of enquiring about our services. You may not otherwise reproduce, republish or use our content commercially without our written permission.
Material you send us
If you send us a message, photographs or other material, you confirm that you have the right to do so. You keep ownership of what you send. You grant us permission to use it for the purpose of responding to you and providing our services. We handle personal information as described in our privacy statement.

This site links to websites we do not control, including our social media pages. We provide those links for convenience. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy or privacy practices of any linked site, and a link does not imply that we endorse it.
