Smart Stocking
Kelts are captured in spring on their return to sea and rejuvenated in hatcheries. Their eggs and milt are reared to smolts and released to rivers at the optimal time — then the kelts go back to the river to spawn again.

Welcome to Wild Salmon Unlimited (WSU), an organization devoted to the restoration of Wild Atlantic Salmon. Never has this initiative been more important.
Recent developments by The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) have identified the Atlantic salmon of many Maritime rivers as endangered and, it is quite possible, they will soon go on the Species at Risk List. Wild Salmon Unlimited, and its affiliates, are working hard to raise funds to reverse this calamity.
We are looking for your support to help us help Atlantic salmon now. Please join or contribute through the purchase of smolts through our smolt fund. Your contribution is tax deductible. Thank you.
