June, 2018 Board meeting

The meeting was held for the first time in the Margaree Salmon Association's (MSA) office at the Cranton Crossroads Community Center in NE Margaree. Most of the discussion entailed our approach to enhancement now that the DFO is focusing on preservation as opposed to enhancement. We will continue to support the Inverness South Anglers' Association with their work and will investigate how we can work with DFO on the Grand river in future.

We are also going to visit some of our old affiliates to garner support form them and, in turn, determine whether we can support their work financially.

The president and one director were invited and attended the St. Mary's River Association's annual meeting on May 27th, We were impressed with the work that this group is doing to enhance the river with Atlantic salmon and sea-trout. They rejuvenate kelts and populate the river with fry each Spring. In the last 3 years they have put over 2 hundred thousand fry in the river and, last year, added some 21 thousand sea-trout.

Since our AGM is nigh: June 23, 2018 at 14:00 in St. Patrick's Hall North East Margaree we took some tome to review our board and get commitments from current directors as well as discussing potential newcomers. A difficult task when everyone seems so busy. Having said that if anyone of our members wishes to have their names added to the list of potential new directors please contact any of the current board or myself at ; 902-235-2959.

That's it for now and we hope you'll attend our AGM where you'll have an opportunity to share your opinions, eat some goodies and have an opportunity to purchase tickets on a wonderful Pieroway rod as well as get a chance to win one of our excellent door prizes.

Until next time tight lines.
