Geoff Nishi is excited about news he just received that indicates the Graham’s river is to be included in the temperature-monitoring database of Atlantic Salmon Rivers by RivTemp.
RivTemp is a partnership among universities, provincial and federal governments, watershed groups and other organizations devoted to Atlantic salmon conservation. The organization involves a network of river temperature monitoring stations that includes a centralized database containing temperatures of Eastern Canadian Atlantic salmon rivers.
Geoff’s crew is scheduled to start a 6 to 8 week project that involves installation of 17 rock structures above the Campbell’s Bridge on the middle section of Graham’s river. Plans are also underway to remove debris and do braiding remediation on the lower section of the river. Good work and good luck to the Inverness South Angler’s Association.
