Highlights of the October 21, 2016 WSU Board of Directors Meeting
1. Positive reports were presented on the two projects being supported by WSU. One on the Grand River and the other the Graham's River. Work has been completed for this summer and plans are being made for next year. WSU has contributed $90, 000 overall: $50, 000 to the Graham's, located in Judique, and the remainder to the Grand River.
2. A five year fund-raising plan is under development for WSU and should be in place by summer 2017.
3. Planning is underway on a 2017 fund-raising social event to be held in conjunction with other salmon groups. Stay posted.
4. Consideration is being given to possible projects for funding n 2017.
5. WSU is continuing to explore options for raising smolts.
6. WSU will have meetings with river groups in the Spring.
7. Representatives from the Graham's River made a presentation outlining their work over the past year.
